Celebrating One Year & A Special Invite for You!
Welcome to the Desire Salon!
Dear Desire Explorer,
Today we celebrate one whole year since I started the Psychology of Desire Substack!
One year ago I was amazed to see that Psychology of Desire was available on this platform, jumped on my computer and wrote the below Note.
As you can see, it somehow went viral— and the Psychology of Desire was born!
Now that note has morphed into:
over 6,400 subscribers
65 podcast episodes
3 Psychology of Desire: Case Files
the Desire Diary
Desire profiling
and numerous articles.
I have been lucky enough to collaborate with incredible writers, sexologists, sexperts, desire explorers and kinky individuals. It has been a blast!
I am grateful for each and every one of you— thank you for being here, it is truly appreciated.
There is so much more to come!
I have a lot to share with you this year, and now is the perfect time to make the first announcement and invite you to become part of something special.
Announcing The Desire Salon!
The Desire Salon is a monthly contemplative space for people who want to understand desire — not control it, perform it, or explain it away.
Desire is often treated as either a problem to solve or a hunger to satisfy.
Here, it is approached as something else entirely:
a psychological force with structure, memory, symbolism, and intelligence.
The Desire Salon exists for those who sense this already — even if they don’t yet have the language for it.
Who This Space Is For
The Desire Salon is for Desirers.
Desirers are not defined by what they do, how transgressive they are, or how confidently they speak about their erotic lives.
Desirers are people who:
Feel that desire means something.
Are curious about why they want what they want.
Notice patterns, tensions, fantasies, contradictions.
Prefer depth over advice.
Want to engage without being asked to perform, confess, or transform on demand.
You do not need to be kinky.
You do not need to be partnered.
You do not need to be “healed.”
You just need to arrive at the Desire Salon with an open mind and ready to explore.
Sound like you?
What Happens in the Desire Salon
The Desire Salon will occur once a month, via live audio.
You will be invited to join me live to explore desire in all of it’s forms.
Each Salon is structured, contained, and deliberately slow.
You can expect:
A clear psychological and symbolic frame.
A short, carefully chosen reading (from psychology, philosophy, or erotic literature).
Interpretation — not instruction.
Space to think, feel, and reflect.
Optional participation, never required.
The first Desire Salon will be held in February, and we will be exploring the nature of desire as well as it’s history.
How Desire Is Treated Here
In the Desire Salon, desire is not reduced to:
Trauma.
Attachment style.
Hormones.
Technique.
Moral narratives.
It is treated as:
A psychological organiser.
A symbolic language.
A force that shapes identity, power, fantasy, creativity, and intimacy.
Desire is not something to be mastered here.
It is something to be understood.
Between Salons
Between monthly gatherings, Desirers receive written reflections — short letters from the Erotic Mind and my explorations direct to you.
The Role I Hold
I am not here to tell you what to want.
I am here to model how to think with desire.
My role in the Desire Salon is that of:
Erotic psychologist.
Interpreter of desire.
Guide in symbolic and psychological literacy.
You are not being led toward an outcome but invited into a way of seeing.
A celebratory price
The Desire Salon will be included exclusively as part of the $100/year annual membership to Psychology of Desire.
But to celebrate the first year of Psychology of Desire and the creation of the Desire Salon I am currently offering 50% off for lifetime access! This offer is available for 1 week only.
