Exploring the Psychology of Kinky Desires- a Question for YOU.
Power, surrender, pleasure, pain: what do they reveal about our minds? My podcast explores it all. Should I post it here?
One of the things I love about writing Psychology of Desire is exploring the deeper layers of eroticism. The psychological forces shaping what we want, the unconscious patterns behind our turn-ons, and the ways desire is so much more than just physical.
But there’s one area of erotic psychology I haven’t explored much here yet: the psychology of kink.
Desire takes many forms, and for some, it manifests through power, surrender, intensity, and transformation. Kink isn’t just about what happens in a scene—it’s an expression of deeper psychological needs, shaped by everything from personal history to the meanings we attach to dominance, submission, pain, pleasure and control…and much more.
That’s what my podcast The Erotic Realm is all about. It’s a space where I interview people from the kink world, exploring their erotic psychology: What draws them to their desires? How do their fantasies shape their identity? What do their experiences reveal about the deeper structures of the erotic mind? Each conversation blends personal stories with psychology, science, and symbolism, uncovering the hidden architecture of desire.
So, I’m wondering… should I bring the podcast here to Substack? Is listening to The Erotic Realm and the psychology of kink something you’re interested in?
I’m a big believer in exploring all of the realms of desire. From the lighter to the darker aspects, and I’d love to include these darker aspects in our journey together into the psychology of desire.
I look forward to hearing your feedback.
As always, thanks for reading and commenting.
Emma.
